There are many attractive beaches and some historical ruins dating to the Shirazi era. Pemba is also famous in Tanzania for traditional medicine and witchcraft.

Pemba is easily accessible by air from Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam and Tanga. There are also speedboat transfers available from Zanzibar.
